Return and Cancellation Policies

 

Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us.  However, it is important to note that our garments are made-to-order and the materials cannot be reused once the creation process has begun. Please refer to our cancellation and return policies below for details.

 

Cancellation Policy

- Orders cancelled up to 72 hours after payment confirmation* will be eligible for a full refund including the shipping cost and minus any credit card processing fees.  If you would like to cancel your order, please contact our office immediately at 901.290.2296 or Toll Free at 855.516.5558. Orders cannot be cancelled after that.

 

*When you receive an email regarding payment confirmation from M.G. Ballard Designs or receipt of your payment through any of our credit card processing entities, your payment has been confirmed. 

 

Return Policy


Fitting Issues

Upon the arrival of your package, we encourage you to check and make sure that your garments have been made in the size you ordered.  

 

Garments that do not fit to your personal tastes but are made in the size you ordered cannot be returned or exchanged.  We recommend that you use our ordering tips and/or order your garment a size larger if you are not absolutely sure about how you want a garment to fit. That way, you can use your local alterations specialist to alter the garment to your specifications.  Garments can be taken in very easily; however, they cannot be given additional room if they are too tight.

 

Please note that we use a stretch stitch in constructing our garments.  This stitch allows the seam to stretch with you as you bend or sit without the worry of popping.  If you get the garment altered and this stitch is not used, we cannot be held responsible for popped stitches in your garment.

 

Fabric Issues

Our Essential Elements Collection is made from a double knit fabric that is a blend of 67% Polyester, 30% Rayon and 3% Spandex.  Because it is primarily made from polyester, the fabric is prone to pilling.  Pilling does not indicate a defect in the fabric quality.  It is a natural occurrence in garments made from fabrics containing polyester and several other synthetic fibers. Pilling is when the fibers on your knit garment break way from the strand they once adhered to, and form tiny little balls on the surface. It is caused by rubbing or abrasion of the fabric during normal wear and use.  Please see our document “Caring for Your Knit Garments” for tips on how to prevent, reduce or remove Pilling.

 

Color Issues

If we shipped you an item in the wrong color: You are eligible for a full refund if we confirm that we made your garment(s) in the wrong color. Please note that if you are ordering garments from us without seeing the actual fabric swatches, the settings of your computer screen may alter the color of the pictures and fabric color swatches shown on our site. Slight color differences between the color of your item and the color shown on screen do not mean your item has been shipped in the wrong color and are not grounds for a refund.

That way, you can use your local alterations specialist to alter the garment to your specifications.  Leather garments can be taken in; however, because the needle leaves an actual puncture in the skin, it would leave unsightly markings if a leather garment is let out.

 

Leather Issues

Please note that leather is a natural product made from the hides of animals and is subject to subtle scarring and markings.  These do not indicate a fault in the skins, but it is simply a characteristic. 

 

Color Issues

If we shipped you an item in the wrong color: You are eligible for a full refund if we confirm that we made your garment(s) in the wrong color. Please note that the settings of your computer screen may alter the color of the pictures of the fabric color swatches shown on our site. Slight color differences between the color of your item and the color shown on screen do not mean your item has been shipped in the wrong color and are not grounds for a refund.


Also, due to potential differences in leather colors coming from different dye lots, we recommend ordering all pieces at the same time that you wish to order in the same color.  We can not guarantee exact color matches when garments are ordered later intended to match those already purchased. 



In general, if you are returning or exchanging items, please make sure they are in their original condition - unworn, unwashed, unaltered, undamaged, clean, free of perfumes, oils, lint and hair and with tags intact and attached.

 

Please note:  Requests for returns must be made within 5 days of receipt of the garment as evidenced by our delivery notification. Garments must be returned to us within 10 days of receipt or claims will not be honored.
