Making Small Miracles a Great Success!
In 2014 I was contracted by the Institute of Community Services, Inc. (ICS) to do the layout and design for their 2013-2014 201Annual Report. The ICS Head Start Project operates 21 Head Start Centers serving 14 counties in Northern Mississippi. The organization which now has over 800 employees, serves over 3,000 children and families. I have been working with them since that time, continuing to design their annual reports and brochures, as well as graphic content for their website and social media platforms. Over the past 13 years I have learned how valuable Head Start is and have developed a growing admiration for the excellent leadership and staff of ICS who work diligently to improve the lives of the children and families they serve. Their motto is “Making Small Miracles a Great Success,” and I have had the privilege of witnessing how they make that happen.
This year, in recognition of their 60th anniversary, I did a piece of art titled “Small Miracles” that depicts the many ways children learn through their Early Head Start and Head Start programs. I used the piece as their annual report cover.
